Top 1: Egg Puffs (Gai Dan Jai)
Egg Puffs (Gai Dan Jai) are a popular “street snack” in Hong Kong. They are made from a slightly sweet batter based on eggs and flour using a special iron griddle with small round indentations. The resulting product can be described as small egg-shaped waffles that are crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and addictively delicious.
Fung Kee Gai-Daan-Jai snack shop in Granville road, Tsim Sha Tsui is most of popular one in Hong Kong and their Gai-Daan-Jai is famous on the taste lightly milky and eggy! I like their eat Egg puffs so much. It has few of flavors (Original, Taro, Sesame Coconuts, Chocolate...etc), it looks like very common snack. In fact, the taste is really great, outside is crispy but inside is soft with milky and egg tastes. I recommend my favorite taste “Chocolate one”, don’t forget try it when you come Hong Kong......Yummy!! Yummy!!

The street cart selling snacks, they sales preserved mango, preserved plum (in Chinese is Hua Mei)., etc. The street cart is located in Hau Fook Street, Tsim Sha Tsui. I remember this is very commonly seen outside the cinemas in the past years.

Curry Fish Balls & Siu Mai are my favourite street snacks, especially is curry fish balls and I like the taste is little bit hot. I recommend you eat with a sweet sauce, the taste will much better!
Top 5: Candy and Coconut Wrap (糖葱餅)
This is my Top 5 street snack, I need to recommend for you. You can found it in the street. It usually used to be sold on the street by an old man carrying the metal box as shown above with a strap across his shoulder and they selling in not regular hours. Basically a candy wafer is placed in the middle of a rice crepe, followed by sprinkling some sugar, shredded coconut and roasted sesame seeds. This is wrapped up and placed into a little brown paper bag, the taste is sweet and smell good.

回覆刪除Hi Gordon, I am super fish ball fans...heheh. Thank you for posting such of delicious photos and it make me hunger ... Fung Kee Gai-Daan-Jai snack shop is very famous in TST, I like chocolate flavor too!!
